REGISTRATION AND POLICIES
Age Restrictions
For our 2 and 3 Day Algonquin Park trips, the minimum age is 12 years old. All children will be riding on the same sled and stay in the same accommodations as their parents or guardians. Children 12-15 years old will receive a 10% discount. Youth 16 and older are treated as adults and as such charged full fare. Due to the rugged nature of our backcountry trails, participants must be a minimum of 16 years old in order to drive a dog sled. This is not only for the safety of participants, but for the safety of the dogs as well.
Our Temagami and other extended Expedition trips require each participant to be able to control their own sled and dog team, for this reason children are not able to join these trips. Older youth may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
Registration
To register for one of our trips simply contact us by phone or email to confirm trip availability. Upon receipt of your registration form, we will confirm your space and send you instructions for paying a 25-50% deposit to secure your place. Full payment is required 30 days in advance of your departure date (or immediately if booking last minute). If the remaining payment is not received when due, Snow Forest Adventures reserves the right to treat the reservation as cancelled.
Snow Forest Adventures reserves the right to refuse registration and subsequent participation to any registrant who would be considered to be at considerable medical/physical risk as a result of participation in any of our programs.
Included in Cost
All meals, accommodation, park permits and guiding services are included in your trip. And let’s not forget the sleds, equipment and dogs! See specific trip descriptions for details. Please note that all prices are quoted in Canadian dollars.
Cancellation
We will do our best to avoid cancelling a trip, and as such Snow Forest Adventures reserves the right to change itineraries if it will enhance your experience or we are forced to do so by circumstances beyond our control (e.g. snow conditions, temperatures, blizzards, water levels, forest fires, etc.). Although it is unlikely, Snow Forest Adventures does reserve the right to cancel a trip in advance of the departure date. If we are forced to cancel a trip for any reason, we shall endeavour to meet your needs with another trip date at your earliest convenience. If this is not possible within the season, a credit will be issued for the following season. *All 2-4 day trips require a minimum of 4 participants to run.
A large portion of the expenses associated with your trip are incurred long before your arrival at the trailhead. As well, the shorter the notice of your withdrawal means there is less likelihood of filling your place in an already short season. If it is necessary for you to cancel your booked trip, a credit will be issued to you that may be used in either that season, or the following season. A trip credit can not be resold. Credits remain active until the end of the season in the following year.
We strongly recommend that you purchase cancellation insurance from your travel insurance provider.
